3. What our advice is, and what it isn't

Our reports are professional opinions based only on the information you give us. We do not visit your property.

Our services are not:

If we think you need one of these, we will tell you. Any decision you make about your project, your builder or your money remains yours.

4. Ordering and payment

You pay in full when you order, through our secure payment provider, Stripe. Your contract with us starts when your payment goes through.

After paying, email your documents or photos to kev@beforeyoubuild.org.uk, quoting your payment receipt.

5. Turnaround

We aim to send your report within 48 hours of receiving both your payment and everything we need to complete it.

If something is missing or unclear, we will ask you. The 48 hours starts once we have it. Orders received at weekends or on bank holidays count from 9am on the next working day.

If we cannot meet the 48 hours for any reason, we will let you know as soon as possible and agree a new time. If that doesn't suit you, we will give you a full refund.

6. Your right to cancel

Under UK consumer law you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase.

By ticking the box at checkout, you ask us to start work straight away, within those 14 days. This means:

To cancel, email us at kev@beforeyoubuild.org.uk with your name and payment receipt. Refunds are paid back to your original payment method within 14 days.

7. If you are not happy

If you think your report contains a mistake or misses something you asked about, email us within 14 days of receiving it. We will correct or add to it free of charge. If we cannot put it right, we will give you a full or partial refund.

8. Your information

Please make sure the documents and information you send are accurate and complete, and that you are allowed to share them. Our advice relies on them.

We treat everything you send in confidence. How we use and store your information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

9. Our responsibility to you

We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill.

If we fail to do so, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the service, except where the law does not allow us to limit it. We are not responsible for:
